Some will argue that the development of the Internet originated much earlier than documented. One idea stems from the Cold War and the nationwide paranoia that dictated much of the science and technology of that era. However, many sources explain that the most basic design of the Internet was that of necessity. Before, the Internet limitations kept communication networks from intertwining themselves. Each network was only allowed to communicate with stations on its local network and one at a time. The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) took this project head on.
